Construction Logistics Planning Training

Construction Logistics Planning is the golden thread that underpins the CLOCS Standard.

CLOCS offers three levels of Construction Logistics Planning (CLP) training with courses delivered throughout the year. These courses are suitable for those who just need a basic understanding of what a CLP is and how it works, right through to those who develop, manage and review CLPs as part of their role.

CLP training, developed in conjunction with Transport for London and HS2, provides guidance and support to help the construction industry work together to plan and manage construction logistics to and from sites.

CLP training will help you to understand:

  • CLP requirements and how they affect you
  • the impact of sector growth and demand for safer, leaner and greener construction journeys
  • the positive effect of good construction logistics planning and importance of early collaboration
  • the structure of a CLP and its content, and it’s context in the planning process
  • how ‘Planned Measures’ can reduce the impact of construction activity
  • how to make a full assessment of all phases of construction and critique a completed plan
  • the benefits of getting it right

To learn more about CLPs, take a look at introduction to CLPs and also the many CLP resources CLOCS has developed to support the adoption and implementation of construction logistics planning.

Your CLP journey

  • Practitioner training is the practical bit and helps delegates to develop, assess and deliver CLPs effectively. On completion, delegates become a CLP Practitioner
  • Advanced training completes the journey and is for individuals involved in producing CLPs focusing on the methodology for assessing and calculating vehicle movements during each of the construction phases

Note that training must be undertaken in this order, i.e. you must complete Foundation training before progressing to Practitioner training and finally Advanced to complete your journey.

I would recommend this course for anyone who is interested in construction project safety and wants to further the improvements in reducing road related accidents, reduce pollution and noise and reduce project costs.

Delivered online via a virtual classroom over two half-days in a dynamic, interactive three-part programme taking delegates on a journey from Foundation, through Practitioner and culminating in Advanced, this CLP training provides guidance and support to help the industry work together to plan and manage vehicle movements to and from sites.

It also provides a forum for industry professionals to come together to discuss real life issues and topics, to share best practice and personal experiences, and to network with other industry professionals.

Our industry experienced trainers strive to create a positive and lasting impact. We ensure delegates are from a good mix of background and experience – encouraging real-life, topical and sector relevant conversations and discussions.
