Speedy Hire were recently thrilled to announce that they have launched a life-saving initiative which will see defibrillators (AEDs) be installed in its engineer vans across the country.
Initial rollout sees life-saving devices installed across 18 Speedy Hire engineer vans, with over 320 to be installed throughout the year.
Supporting Speedy in this initiative are British Heart Foundation, TrustFord, Lex Autolease, and Aero Healthcare UK.
Aaron Powell MICFM, MAFP, Fleet Director of Speedy Hire said:
We are very proud to be launching this life-saving initiative today. Every minute without CPR or defibrillation reduces a person suffering from cardiac arrest’s chances of survival by 10% and our national presence through our engineer vans and depots enables more people to access the vital equipment in their time of need.
This is a very important cause for Speedy Hire, having team members who have affected by heart issues in the past. We are committed to supporting not just our employees but also the communities in which we operate to help make a positive impact, particularly in those areas without easy access to a defibrillator.
This is yet another initiative in Speedy’s support of British Heart Foundation, which commenced in 2021. They have more initiatives and plans for the year ahead as they strive towards helping to raise awareness of hidden heart conditions as well as help to raise vital funds for their lifesaving research.
