Company History The Erith Group is a family business, founded in 1967 by Tom Darsey. The company’s ethos today, as it was then, was one of quality of service and client satisfaction. Since its formation the company has grown to form a Group comprising of: • Erith Holdings Limited • Erith Contractors Limited • Erith Haulage Limited • Erith Plant Services Limited • Erith Training Services Limited • Swanton Consulting Ltd Our primary business is to service the construction and related industries through its Enabling Services, comprising of demolition, asbestos removal, remediation, earthworks, piling, concrete works, waste recycling and haulage. In 2017, the directors of the Erith Group transferred their shareholdings to an Employee-Owned Trust (EOT), meaning the shares of the company are now owned indirectly by its employees. Erith Group is committed to long term client partnerships, a central feature of which is the provision of a high-quality service for all its clients using a multi-disciplined, skill-based approach. The service is tailored to the specific issues and problems of each client. Supported by a network of specialist consulting engineers, environmentalists and our own collective experience, Erith Group’s philosophy is simple: ‘to provide a qualitative economic and cost-effective service, based on an understanding of our client’s needs and our own ability to deliver quality, safely and on time.’ The annual Group turnover in 2017/8 was £155 million, with an average of 450 staff members. The Group’s plan is to grow the business, whilst maintaining a sensible level of return for its shareholders and a high level of customer satisfaction, sustainability and excellent safety performance. This is demonstrated by the amount of repeat business it receives from clients, either in formalised framework arrangements or competitive tendering. Erith takes a pride in setting its objectives to be recognised by its peers and clients as a leading contractor in the UK. Based upon a full understanding of our client‘s needs, we provide a first class and cost effective service. Our Head office is based in Erith, where we are one of the largest employers in our local borough of Bexley. Erith have 50 years’ experience supporting the construction industry, with long standing framework contracts demonstrating the reliability of the company.
