E H Smith (Builders Merchants) ltd is a family owned business. Employing over 430 people across its' Head Office in the West Midlands and 12 branches geographically ranging from Cannock (North Midlands) to Witham in Essex.The companies work activities are primarily based around the sale, transport and delivery of building materials. These can range from common goods such as sand, cement and timber, to large civil, railway and waterways products such as piping and concrete inspection chambers. At each of the branches can be found a Builders Merchants Centre, aimed primarily at collection customers and passing trade. The majority of the branches have brick showrooms, with a renowned selection of bricks and specialist sales people to service these areas. This has historically, and remains, the main focus and expertise area of the business.
