How to check if your construction site is CLOCS compliant?
The CLOCS Team is offering Champions an opportunity to have their sites assessed against seven key areas of the National CLOCS Standard.

CLOCSCompliance Monitoring Visits have been developed in partnership with CCS to help companies to understand how well they are doing against the Site Checklist and to identify areas for improvement. We’ve even put together a guide to help you to prepare for your visit.  Click here for more information.

For a limited time only, your first two visits are FREE.  Contact clocs@ccscheme.org.uk to claim your first visits today.  Assessments are entirely confidential.

CLOCS Champion workshop
13 September 2017
London Borough of Camden, 5 Pancras Square, London N1C 4AG

A CLOCS Champion workshop has been developed by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). The half-day workshops are free to attend and aim to improve the understanding of CLOCS across the industry.

The target audience is logistics operators, client developers, local authorities and procurement professionals. The aim of the mixed audience is to help stakeholders gain a better understanding of CLOCS from all perspectives and increase implementation. The workshop covers:
  • The context and background to CLOCS
  • CLOCS Standard for construction logistics: Managing Work Related Road Rsk
  • The role and responsibilities of CLOCS Champions
  • How planning obligations are being used to require the CLOCS Standard to improve road safety
  • How procurement is being used to require the CLOCS Standard and to manage road risk in contracts
  • How to monitor and manage compliance to the CLOCS Standard
The workshop carries CILT certification and awards three hours formal Continued Professional Development (CPD). For further information on attending a CLOCS Champion workshop, or if you are interested in hosting a future workshop, contact Glen Davies glen.davies@ciltuk.org.uk

NEW website - Construction Logistics Programme
The Construction Logistics Programme was launched in 2016 and exists to help reduce the volume and impact of construction road freight. The Programme aims to find viable alternatives to tackle the associated issues of safety, congestion and air quality.

A brand new format for the Programme has just been launched via a dedicated website. This new site is designed to act as the hub for the Construction Logistics Programme and over time will develop into a dedicated source of information, support and training for all those involved in Construction Logistics. If you’d like to get involved in the programme, email enquiries@constructionlogistics.org.uk

Sponsorship opportunity
The White Bike, a play inspired by the death of Eilidh Cairns who was crushed by a tipper lorry, will receive its world premiere at The Space in East London in September 2017 https://space.org.uk/event/the-white-bike/

Eilidh’s story has already touched many lives and brought much positive change but making our roads safe remains an urgent issue; in the eight years since Eilidh was killed, a further 100 cyclists have been killed in London alone (Cycling Intelligence). The production is professional and ambitious with a brilliant team and actors but is entirely self-funded.  Find out how you can demonstrate your commitment to change through sponsorship of this powerful production…read more
