New from ICE: CLOCS: Good practice for designers

11 November 2021

The Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) has released a good practice guide to CLOCS for designers. This guidance discusses the approach that designers should take to include planning for resource and vehicle movements for a construction site, to reduce impact on the local community.

Prioritising safety on all infrastructure projects should be paramount to the design process, and designers are required to design out and reduce foreseeable risks to anyone affected by the project.

“I encourage designers to familiarise themselves with the advice in this document, be cognisant of the risk we pose and consider the influence they hold in ensuring the safest construction vehicle journeys. It’s a matter of life or death.” Professor Kate Cairns – read more on her ICE blog here
