CLOCS was delighted to welcome the Construction Clients’ Leadership Group (CCLG) as a CLOCS Strategic Partner earlier this year. CCLG is an independent group for private, public, and regulated clients to share best practice, learn from others and tackle pressing issues facing clients and the industry at large.
The CCLG is the only truly independent client group for private, public, and regulated clients – the recognised home for leading clients, offering the best value and lowest cost membership, open to organisations of all sizes with fees starting from £2000. The CCLG is a not-for-profit organisation comprised of leading clients and industry bodies.
The CCLG works in partnership with the British Property Federation and together, through this alliance, we have formed the Collaborative Client Forum (CCF). The CCF is a combination of established client groups and exemplar clients all working together to improve value and certainty of outcome when investing in the built environment. Participation in the CCF is included as part of CCLG membership.
OUR GOVERNANCE
The CCLG is led by an Executive Group, drawn from our members, meeting quarterly to oversee progress against our Business Plan. We organise four dinners each year to bring leading clients together to gain input and direction from the wider client base. Each dinner plays host to leading industry figures as keynote speakers to explore how best we can support our members, the Construction Leadership Council and the HSE’s Help GB Working Well (HGBWW) strategy.
The CCLG has a thriving Best Practice Working Group which is open to any client wishing to share best practice and benchmark performance in areas where we can establish common data sets.
OUR NETWORK
With us you can network with leading clients to share, learn, and influence on the pressing issues facing clients and the industry at large. We also have many informal settings where members can test their ideas and have conversations to establish what works, building from simple ideas into working solutions in a safe and secure environment free from vested interests.
Members are encouraged to nominate colleagues to participate in the many working groups established to capture best practice, enabling all to adopt or adapt best practice to meet their business’ needs.
Our working groups and seminars are held virtually via Teams in addition to our focused webinars. All meetings are targeted to last no longer than 30 to 60 minutes and are structured to assist members in the following key areas:
- Building Safety Act – understanding client duties and actions required.
- Next Generation Delivery – from procurement through to monitoring buildings in use, including the growing use of Digital Twins to obtain the best possible value.
- Zero Carbon and Biodiversity – sharing and learning how best to meet business needs.
- Health Safety and Wellbeing – improving outcomes for all.
- People, Skills, diversity and inclusion – client leadership by example.
- Secretariat to the CLC Buildings and Places Group where we bring all the above together to demonstrate client leadership and value holistically.
