CLOCS Strategic Partner CLOCS-Australia is working with the National Road Safety Partnership Program (NRSPP) who have launched a campaign in an effort to humanise the image of truck drivers to the Australian public.
Interviews with a number of Australian drivers found that they often felt unseen by other road users despite being professionals and demonstrating their care for safety.
The key messages are:
- There is a person inside every truck; truck drivers are real people with their own interests and families.
- Truck drivers are highly skilled professionals who love their job.
- Road users should drive with care and consideration around trucks to ensure everyone gets home safe.
While this campaign was developed on the other side of the planet, the issues are clearly global and the messages are relevant in the UK as in Australia.
