FORS update during ongoing COVID-19 pandemic

30 April 2020

FORS – the voluntary accreditation scheme for any company operating commercial vehicles anywhere in the UK or overseas – suspended all Bronze on-site audits from the 23rd March until further notice, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Silver and Gold audits are conducted remotely online and FORS members are therefore still able to submit an application to progress or renew their current Silver/Gold accreditation. However, there are certain conditions around mandatory driver training that may prevent progression or accreditation renewal at this time – please check the FORS Coronavirus FAQ page for information.

To support members, FORS has temporarily suspended all Bronze, Silver and Gold downgrades where accreditation dates are exceeded – this means that accreditation levels are maintained at their existing levels. This will remain in place for a set period once Bronze audits are re-introduced to allow companies to complete their audits. Guidance will be provided on how long this will be in place for as well as further information about audits as soon as this is available.

FORS has also cancelled all face-to-face training until further notice and all FORS Professional classroom-based training courses are now being held as live, online webinars and are available for all FORS members to register to attend.

FORS Professional Practitioner workshops, FORS Professional Car and Van Fleet Management Essentials, FORS Professional HGV/PCV Fleet Management Essentials, and FORS Professional Collision Management have all been adapted to suit the online format. The webinars are offered to FORS members exclusively as part of the FORS membership. For general information about FORS, including how to join, click here.
