Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), in partnership with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, will be launching their CLOCS (Construction Logistics and Community Safety) strategy at 8.30am on Friday 18th October 2019 at Whitworth Hall, University of Manchester.

With a keynote speech from celebrated cyclist and Cycling and Walking Commissioner for Greater Manchester, Chris Boardman MBE, TfGM will launch their implementation plan for CLOCS in Greater Manchester.
The problem:
Every year 500 pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists are killed or seriously injured in collisions with HGVs on Britain’s roads. Many of these vehicles are only on the roads because they are servicing our constructions sites – delivering the materials needed to build new homes, schools and commercial ventures to enable our communities to thrive.
Implementing the CLOCS Standard will make our streets safer places to walk and cycle:
This event launches TfGM’s investment in the CLOCS programme and will help delegates to understand the implications on stakeholders in the planning, procurement and delivery of construction projects in the region. TfGM and the wider region will endeavour to implement CLOCS on all major projects.
Attendees will hear from a range of informative speakers, who will be exploring the impact CLOCS will have on the region, and particularly its implications for regulators, clients and contractors.
Together we can eliminate the risk construction activity presents to local communities.
