DfT supports national roll-out of CLOCS

28 March 2019

Supportive of ambition for the Standard to be adopted in all parts of country, the Department for Transport regards CLOCS as one of three important actions that together reduce road risk:

  1. Regulation
  2. Motivation to ‘do the right thing’ and operate best practice; and
  3. CLOCS influence through the supply chain

“I was delighted to be invited to speak at the CLOCS 2019 Annual Conference and to hear the high level of ambition for further improving and expanding the scheme. Alignment to CLOCS can help all parties in the construction supply chain play their part in keeping our roads safe for all users. This aligns to the Government’s ambition to make cycling and walking a safer and more attractive option for all. I encourage contractors and fleet operators to consider adopting the CLOCS standard to help keep our roads safe for all users.”

Duncan Price | Divisional Manager, Freight, Operator Licensing and Roadworthiness, Department for Transport

Duncan brought Minister Jesse Norman’s apologies for not being able to attend on the day as planned.
