CLOCS is delighted to welcome FORS Concession Director, Geraint Davies to the CLOCS Strategy, Standards and Governance Board (SSGB). Geraint brings a wealth of experience across the road haulage industry and will prove a valuable asset to the SSGB.
I have been involved in the road haulage industry for over 25 years and I am currently the FORS Concession Director, a position that I have held for over a year. Previously I was COO of Raymond Transport Limited, who were the one of the first FORS operators in Wales. I have had the privilege the serve as Chair of the Logistics UK (FTA) Welsh Freight Council, UK Road Freight Council in Westminster, I have also Chaired the RHA Welsh Forum and I have also served as an RHA Board Director.
I am the current Chair of the Wales Road Transport Advisory Group, key members include the Traffic Commissioner, Police CVU, the DVSA, industry peers and other key stakeholders. The core aim of this group is to champion road safety, compliance, and best practice. I am the current Vice-Chair of the South Wales IRTE/SOE group, I regularly attend and speak at centre meetings.
I am passionate about road safety and reducing work-related road risk and I believe that CLOCS is a fantastic vehicle to achieve this aim. I believe in leading by example and a proactive, collaborative, and collegiate approach and that the bond between FORS and CLOCS will inevitably grow stronger with greater alignment.
FORS has a long-standing relationship with CLOCS, it is a partnership that is very important to FORS as it fosters a united front in the messaging to key stakeholders and brings together the expertise of FORS and the CLOCS community for the greater good.
FORS has recently launched the Safe Driving DCPC module which replaces the previous Safe Urban Driving Course. This course is now relevant to all vehicle types and all driving situations, whereas the previous course was very HGV-centric and focused on the urban environment.
I believe that my experience and the expertise of FORS will be a great asset to the CLOCS SSGB and the wider CLOCS community.
