Munnelly Support Services and CLOCS
Munnelly Support Services has been helping clients and principal contractors to implement CLOCS to ensure road users and the workforce on construction sites are better protected. They have invested additional time in construction logistics planning and live traffic management plans – raising safety standards within and beyond the hoardings.
Munnelly Support Services has committed to ensuring the safe movement of vehicles and vulnerable road users. They’ve recently focused on their construction logistics planning and live traffic management plans.
Munnelly Support Services has been using the CLOCS Standard as a training tool for managers and marshals and implementing their construction logistics plans throughout the duration of their projects. Also, across their large projects in Birmingham, they have ensured all Site Access Traffic Marshals have been trained by CLOCS-approved providers.
They note ‘the CLOCS SATM training provides a more holistic view of the duties of marshals both inside, outside and on the gate; this information can sometimes be missing from other training modules.’
In addition to this, the use of tablets or ‘personal digital assistants’ is helping with monitoring and compliance issues by identifying and saving vehicle information and driver behaviour.
Munnelly Support Services has seen various benefits from adopting the CLOCS Standard on site, including knowledge sharing with principal contractors and clients. Adopting the Standard has raised the bar for all involved in the construction projects while reducing the risk to the community by evaluating and reducing the risk, through methods of risk assessment at the early stages of a project via the construction logistics plan.
They are a keen advocate and promoter of best practice within the construction industry, helping clients and principal contractors ensure road users and the workforce on construction sites are better protected through the use of the CLOCS Standard, including CLOCS audits as part of client CCS audits.
