August updates from the CLOCS team

9 August 2021

We are currently busy planning for CLOCS. In the meantime, we have plenty of info and support available to help anyone improve construction logistics and community safety.

Here are 5 ways to get someone up to speed on CLOCS:

  1. Read the CLOCS Standard (don’t forget to let us know your views as we’re updating it soon). CLOCS is more than saving lives – it’s also about reducing emissions, preventing costly incidents, and improving efficiencies.
  2. Learn why CLOCS exists – nobody wants to lose their partner, child  or any loved one to preventable road incidents. From the driver to witnesses, each preventable incident also traumatises many more people. Watch and share our CLOCS Works video to see why community safety is at the heart of CLOCS.
  3. Browse through our Resources. Thanks to the support and diligence of our Champions, we’re regularly updating our guides and tools to help make compliance easier to understand and implement. There are lots of tips on how to encourage adoption of the CLOCS Standard.
  4. Encourage staff to undergo Construction Logistics Planning (CLP) training. Day 1 is suitable for all while Day 2 and Day 3 (available soon) are more advanced courses. Good CLPs are the golden thread of the CLOCS Standard, making it easier for your networks and supply chain to ensure safe and efficient journeys to/from site.
  5. Attend the CLOCS Safety Forum – we run events throughout the year to support our aims of ensuring the safest construction vehicle journeys. Hear from your counterparts, ask your questions, and learn about what others are doing to improve the industry. You’ll need to be a Champion to attend. Browse through our News section to see past events. Invitations to future events will be available in a few weeks.

Talk to us – we’re here to chat about how you can improve your construction logistics and commitment to safety beyond the hoardings.
